About Sasha

Yeah so hey guys

Penny reminded me to post this with her mini-rant LOL thank you, Penny.

So as art school is approaching, I’m going to feel the need to make a couple of changes to how I post and blog. To be perfectly honest, I’m getting sick of waking up and feeling like I have to post and reblog pretty pictures, because that’s basically what brought an onslaught of followers in the first place. That’s not the full reason of why I want to blog. I want to legit journal and post to record things I’m going through to share with friends, not reblog that pretty fashion picture because you like it.

I love all of you guys very much, but I feel like my perception on what I see tumblr as has been skewed by followers, pretty images, and reblogs. I want to make a blog for my art, my progress in the world, and my personal life, not to have followers, but to keep those close to me updated and to share what I want to share with them and anyone else who gives a fuck. I want to blog about world issues, issues that bother me personally, etc.

Not that I don’t do that already! But all the other flashy things that I can reblog, I feel, has taken away from what my core content is.

So I’ll be considering moving my blog in the near future for the sheer purpose of sharing my art and art experiences, talking about my friends’ art and promoting them, and anything else along those lines, because I’ve been too caught up in the flashy stuff for too long.

The whole follower thing and how I feel about the blog in general

I tend not to get offended when people unfollow me. I lose about 1-3 followers each week and then gain some. Sometimes they leave in fours. I’m not going to disclose how many followers I have because I believe that that is personal business, but I will say that I have a pretty decent amount. I never even thought I would get over 10.

I’m blessed that this amount of people follow me, put up with my bitchrants, and still push through all the PMS to get to the art and photography they can admire. It’s true that a lot of what I post and reblog is for my followers to appreciate. But one thing I try never to forget is that my blog is for me. No one else. I’m first when it comes to my blog, and if people want to look at my life through Tumblr, then that is wonderful. It’s why I don’t get upset when I lose followers.

People shouldn’t be so offended when they lose followers. The fact of the matter is that not everyone gives a shit about you. It’s just true. Not everyone is going to read how your school day went. Not everyone is going to care that you like a tv show. Not everyone is going to agree with your opinions. And not everyone is going to love the photos you post. Each and every person has their own taste in material, and if they think that your material just doesn’t match up after a while, then they have the right to unfollow you.

A ‘fuck you’ isn’t needed. You shouldn’t flip the bird at every person that unfollows you. You unfollow people all the time don’t you? Why should it be any different for them? Also, don’t make a huge deal if you don’t have a huge amount of followers. Your blog is for you before anything. You should never forget that. A blog is like a public journal. You can hand it to people, but not everyone is going to bother to flip through the pages.

Appreciate the people who look at your stuff, and give a friendly tip of the hat to those who want to move on. The tastes of everyone is always changing, including yours.

PROMITION TIME!! People from school!

So on tumblr I follow a lot of people that are actually school friends! They all have a collection of things they like on their blogs that you might like too!

notarealpoet posts wonderful poetry and musings, pokeke loves anime, glee and always finds the best gifs and comics, thegrumpus will satisfy all your Glee and  gay rights needs, ginseng-and-honey posts a little bit of everything that has her own funky flair to it, brianmeagher is a film maker in the making, and amburlinn is another wonderful artistic blog.

I recommend all of them :)

Hey people can you please NOOOOT delete the original texts from my posts? No matter how unimportant the post was?

l:V

No seriously I understand if these things are mistakes, but they really piss me off. Tumblr bothers me in this area because people like to delete evidence from the original poster to turn a post into a new LOLSOFUNNY image that cycles around the site. If I could give credit to every image, I would. Unfollow me for being a bitch about this I don’t care. Other users on this site may not care, but I do. It’s called my blog for a reason. I’m not going to let images from MYYYYYYY page become a ‘hip’ new image people want to reblog a million times and not know where the hell it came from.

“BUT SASHA IT’S THE INTERNET THESE THINGS HAPPEN YOU CAN’T CONTROL IT IMAGES LOSE THEIR EVIDENCE OF SOURCES ALL THE TIME”

Do I look like someone that cares?

FUCK YEAH, EDGY CURVES

BAM! I have brought a blog dedicated to edgier, more fierce appearances of those women with some extra junk and to show that we, too, can be badass. I’ll update around 1-3 times a week since my main one is still my favorite, but I’ve already got a huge spam up. Each update will have huge chunks of pictures. Enjoy!

I find it ironic that I lose the most followers during a short time period that I’m not rebloging art and photographs and just one or two random pictures

Like, do I have to stay consistent in order to keep followers? The second I reblog a Community animation is the second I lose 1-3 followers? Guys, I’m not bothered by the fact that you unfollowed me in general. I’m bothered by the fact that small posts like that can just make people go “OP SHE’S NOT REBLOGGING 100% PRETTY PICTURES ANYMORE. I’M NOT WATCHING THIS SHIT”

I’m not directing this at anyone specific. This is just from a couple of weird past observations. But, come on guys this is my BLOG. It isn’t just an art gallery. You’re going to see OTHER things, too.
